  • Position Summary

    POSITION SUMMARY
    This position serves as the initial contact for students and parents providing general interpretation, advising and resolution of problems with their financial aid eligibility. Position will be cross trained and may work within the Financial Aid Office and/or Veterans Resource Center, based upon the needs of the office

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES ANDKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    1.Provide information to students, parents, and staff concerning all aspects of financial aid/veterans via telephone, e-mail, fax and in person.
    2.Schedule appointments for financial aid/Veterans staff.
    3.Determine what documentation is required from the student, verify student files are complete, and insure that all documents are tracked into Ellucian Colleague.
    4.Scan all documents that are submitted to the Financial Aid/Veterans Office into the ImageNow Software.
    5.Monitor and maintain inventory of all FA/Veterans forms
    6.Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    1.High School diploma or equivalent.
    2.Two (2) years of general office experience.
    3.Effective verbal and written communication skills, and ability and willingness to work cooperatively with a diverse population.
    4.Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
    5.Excellent customer service skills.
    6.Ability to function as an effective team member and support and adapt to change.
    7.Must not have any student loan in default.

    Preferred Qualifications

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    1.Experience working in a higher education setting.
    2.Experience working in a Financial Aid Office.
    3.Knowledge of Colleague application.
    4.Ability to speak Spanish fluently.

    If you would like to receive the ASR, FSR or MPP in booklet form, you may stop by the Campus Police Department located on Main Campus in G 1013 or call Campus Police at 815-280-2234. The website and booklet contain information regarding campus security and personal safety such as crime prevention and reporting, police law enforcement authority, disciplinary procedures and other related security policies. They also contain information about crime statistics for the three previous years for all JJC campuses, property owned and controlled by JJC District 525 and on public property immediately adjacent to JJC campuses.


    This information is required by law and is made available by the Joliet Junior College Police Department.
