Job Description

POSITION: Motorist Assistant Operator Student Worker

REPORTS TO:This person is under the direct supervision of the Shift Supervisor

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Perform motorist assists for faculty/staff, students and visitors as required. (I.e. Change flats, unlock car doors, jump batteries, and other minor mechanical jobs.)
2.Perform daily preventive maintenance of police dept. vehicles and assigned college vehicles, including: gassing, cleaning, and inspecting vehicles for damage.
3.Assist police and grounds dept. personnel at accident scenes for removal of materials from roadway.
4.Assist motorists and pedestrians in need of help or direction.
5.Report all existing or potential physical security failures or weaknesses (i.e. Downed wires) to supervisory personnel.
6.Make deliveries and pick-ups of college materials when required.
7.All other motorist assists operator duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1.Be enrolled as a current full/part-time JJC student (part-time 6 credit hours minimum per semester).
2. Must maintain satisfactory academic progress (minimum 2.0 GPA, not on academic probation, and in good standing at JJC).
3.Minimum age of employment is eighteen (18) years.
4.High school diploma or equivalent.
5.Current unrestricted Illinois driver’s license. No criminal conviction record. Convictions for the last offense, does not reflect poor or irresponsible driving habits or immaturity.
6.Neat appearance, alert, courteous, dependable, completely honest and trustworthy. Must be able to communicate with and get along with people.
7.No felony conviction record.
8.Must Submit fingerprints and have records kept on campus.
9.Applicant must supply a minimum of three personal references (excluding relatives) and home address and current telephone number. Applicant must have dependable transportation.

PLACEMENT: Student Worker, Wage Tier 3 – 8.50hr.

WORK SCHEDULE:
7 am to 3 am Monday Thru Friday – some weekends
