Job Title:       Administrative Assistant, Career Center                     

Reports To:    Director of the Career Center

Status:            Non-Exempt, Hourly  

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Greet and assist all persons who enter or call the Career Center.Perform general office duties.Maintain all Career Center bulletin boards with current information. Update student records in job database.Provide information on part-time jobs for current students by recording job opportunities from local employers and recruiters.Compile statistics for Career Center annual report.Update Career Center marketing on Instagram, Facebook, posters, etc.Assist with annual Teacher Recruitment Fair and Graduate School Fair.Generate employer and student evaluations after each term.Maintain the contact lists for the employment and recruitment fairs.  Process fair registrations and deposit payments in Finance Office.  Follow up with employers regarding unpaid registrations. Generate work orders for fairs, set up logistics and suggest floor plan layouts.Assist with special events hosted by the Career Center as needed, including making room reservations, generating work orders, ordering food and setting up refreshments for meetings and events.Organize the files and maintain the p: driveMaintain office supplies and equipment.Delegate office support duties to, and supervise, work/study students; process students’ timesheets through ADP.Other duties, as assigned. 

Requirements

High School/Equiv.  Some College preferred.Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Purple Briefcase, Jenzabar, Astra, email and Internet navigation tools, etc.) preferred.Must be able to maintain a pleasant demeanor when dealing with students, staff and employers.Familiarity with social media.Computer skills to manage Career Center software.

Location. Newburgh, New York. The Mount is conveniently located in the Mid-Hudson Valley, midway between New York City and New York's capital city, Albany. The Mount is in Newburgh in Orange County, New York, on a beautiful campus that overlooks the western banks of the Hudson River. It's less than a mile from the intersection of the New York State Thruway and Interstate 84, and just a few blocks from entrance to the Newburgh side of the Beacon-Newburgh Bridge. The Mount is also easily accessible by plane, with Stewart Airport just minutes from campus. The Mid-Hudson Valley offers a scope of unparalleled natural beauty in a landscape of mountains, river and forest. Hiking, biking, walking, swimming, mountain climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and our park activities offer so many ways to explore the natural environment.

Enrollment/Student Body Profile. Our student body is made up of 2,700+ students representing over 16 states and several countries. 1,800 are traditional undergraduate students.

Academic Programs. The Mount offers 50 undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Our collaboration programs offer you a chance to earn a bachelor's degree, plus an advanced degree with schools like Fordham University, Pace University, and New York Medical College. The college also offers master's degrees in education, business, and nursing.

Faculty. Students learn from our faculty, the majority of whom hold a Ph.D. or the highest terminal degree in their field. Our Student/Faculty Ratio is 17 students:1 faculty member.
