General Summary

The Department Chairperson is the spokesperson for a dynamic and diverse faculty, works with an advisory board of business professionals, recruits students and faculty, and manages department resources including fundraising. The Department currently includes 39 tenured/tenure-track faculty , instructional assistant professors and staff, and the Chairperson supports a culture that values shared governance, inclusion, and balance between effective instruction and scholarly research. The Department of Management and Quantitative Methods is one of four departments in the College of Business, along with Accounting; Finance, Insurance and Law; and Marketing. AACSB International accredits the institution in both Accounting and Business. In 2019-2020, the college enrolled approximately 3,600 undergraduates and 270 master’s degree students. The Department offers a Management major with three different concentrations (Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, Human Resource Management, and Organizational Leadership), Business Administration and International Business majors, as well as Operations Management and Statistics courses to nearly 1,450 undergraduate students. In addition, the Department offers a minor in Business Environment and Sustainability that draws students from the entire University. Graduate-level management courses are also offered as part of the M.B.A. degree program.

Required Qualifications

1) an earned doctorate in Management or a closely related field from an accredited university

2) eligibility for tenure and appointment at the associate professor rank or higher within the department

3) a record of successful teaching, university service, and significant intellectual contributions

4) familiarity with AACSB accreditation standards and processes

5) for teaching positions, state law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
