General Summary

Candidates will be expected to teach courses in the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) program (https://healthsciences.illinoisstate.edu/occupational-safety-health/) and work with program faculty members to coordinate professional practice experiences for students. Candidates are encouraged to highlight previous teaching experience, including courses in areas such as safety regulations, risk management and loss control, fire protection and prevention, incident investigation, construction safety and hazardous materials. Faculty members in the OSH program also work closely with program faculty members in Environmental Health and Sustainability. Candidates will not be expected to develop a plan for research in this position. The position is a nine-month non-tenure-track position.

The Department of Health Sciences: The Department of Health Sciences (HSC), in the College of Applied Science and Technology, has 19 tenure-track and non-tenure track faculty members, a full-time academic advisor, and one civil service support staff member. Required Qualifications

1) Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
2)Demonstrated knowledge in occupational safety and health or a closely related area.
3)State law mandates demonstrable oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position.
4) If this position is security sensitive and subject to a criminal background investigation based on University policy. Employment is contingent upon the candidate's passing a satisfactory criminal background investigation.

Desired Qualifications

1) Degree in occupational safety and health or closely related area
2)Range of experience in the broad areas of safety and health and who have a strong desire to teach and work with the next generation of professionals
3)At least one professional credential (e.g. CSP, CIH, ARM, CPE).
