Job Summary

Provide advanced technical support and programming services for audio visual (AV) equipment and components housed within a school or major unit. Includes design, programming, installation, operation, and maintenance of A/V equipment. Components include AV control systems (classroom and studio) and fiber optics. Provide work direct to lower level AV specialists. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit AV equipment users, unit technical staff, contractors and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: unit AV equipment users. This position will supervise: NA

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Duties may include but are not limited to: Assist the A/V-IT Support Professional management and the technical support team with technical AV related issues, projects, and tasks in relation to components housed within a school or major unit. Work with other Information Technology teams to meet technical needs in support of AV infrastructure housed within a school or major unit.

Job Duty 10 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Job Duty 2 -
Manage the audio/visual control system equipment (such as Extron and AMX). Develop, program, modify, and maintain the control system configuration and program files for supported audio/visual systems. Configure, modify and maintain the configuration files for supported DSPs.

Job Duty 3 -
Participate in developing AV design standards. Create and modify systems design documents in CAD and/or Visio. Participate in developing standard baseline packages to be offered to campus. Develop technical specifications in support of new AV requirements of the unit.

Job Duty 4 -
Oversee and participate in integration, installation, maintenance, and in servicing AV equipment to include replacement and repair. Confer with Office of Information Technology regarding AV issues.

Job Duty 5 -
Conduct training in use of AV equipment.

Job Duty 6 -
Maintain current knowledge of developments in AV technology.

Job Duty 7 -
Assist with the management, maintenance and upkeep of supported networks (VLANs) and supported firewalls.

Job Duty 8 -
Work with applicable support teams to manage the maintenance and upkeep of supported monitoring tools (such as Microsoft Windows Servers running Extron Global Viewer and AMX RMS).

Job Duty 9 -
Work with the appropriate security tools to make sure the supported areas are working within the security policies identified by the Institute.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Experience
Four to six years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Technology Specialist-Installation (CTS-I), Certified Technology Specialist-Design (CTS-D), AMX Certified Expert (ACE), CompTIA Network +, Security + are preferred Skills in design, integration and programming of specialized AV systems is preferred Experience in maintenance of remote management systems for supported audio/visual systems (such as Extron Global Viewer Enterprise and AMX Resource Management Suite (RMS) Enterprise)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires advanced knowledge in electronics and engineering support as related to audio/visual equipment and components. Additionally, skills in project management in relation to AV designs, AV installation, AV integration, AV quality assurance, developing standards and designing baseline solutions. Advanced skills in fabrication and installation of electronic equipment; preparing and reading prints, drawings and schematics and electronics assembly and soldering techniques are required. Ability to provide work guidance to others is also required.
