Job Summary Prepare and dispense drugs and pharmaceutical supplies as prescribed by physicians in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations, HIPAA and Institute policies and practices. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Institute health center physicians, external physicians, students requiring prescription medication and their families. This position typically will advise and counsel: Institute health center physicians, external physicians, students requiring prescription medication and their families. This position will supervise: assigned staffResponsibilities <html><b><u>Job Duty 1 - </u></b>
Fill prescriptions in accordance with physicians' orders; consults with prescriber as necessary.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 2 - </u></b>
Counsel patients regarding medications.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 3 - </u></b>
Maintain adequate levels of pharmacy stock; places orders and processes returns or properly disposes of out of date stock.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 4 - </u></b>
Participate in continuing education programs to maintain licensure.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 5 - </u></b>
Maintain records associated with pharmacy operations.

<html><b><u>Job Duty 6 - </u></b>
Provide oversight and work direction to pharmacy interns, as required

Perform other duties as assignedRequired Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Science, Pharmacy or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
NLS Certified Braille Transcriber

Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Practice of pharmacy within a university environment

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
Dispensing pharmaceuticals and operating within pharmacy systems; use of standard and specialized computer applications, patient communications, customer service; work leadership.
