Work Schedule:

Monday – Thursday 3:30 PM - 9:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Rate of Pay:

$23.83 per hour

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty supervising, evaluating and overseeing Testing Services staff, as well as, the administration and proctoring of assessments. Work is distinguished by the ability to explain, apply, and enforce testing policies and procedures and the ability to partner with external testing companies . Direction is received from the assigned manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Associate's degree (AA), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with 2 years supervisory experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Considerable skill in problem solving and decision-making regarding issues related to the scope of position.
  3. Considerable skill in developing and maintaining positive and professional relationships with internal and external customers from diverse populations.
  4. Considerable skill in written and verbal communications.
  5. Considerable skill with diagnostic testing tools that support college course placement.
  6. Considerable skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment, as well as, learning and adapting to new and/or updated programs and technology.
  7. Considerable skill in working as an assertive, energetic leader with a high degree of creativity, enthusiasm, initiative and diplomacy.
  8. Availability to work evening and weekend hours.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Essential Duties:

  1. Provide supervision and direction for all evening and weekend Testing Services staff and assist Director in the maintenance of daily operations through regular communication.
  2. Investigate and respond to questions and concerns; resolve issues as they arise.
  3. Explain, apply, and enforce testing policies and procedures, including checking student IDs, launching tests, monitoring examinees, and updating testing procedures.
  4. Effectively partner with external testing companies regarding test schedules and available seating, proctor changes and training requirements, technical problems, test site updates, incident reports, contractual changes, and other necessary communications to ensure test center compliance, and staff professional development.
  5. Provide back-up in administering and proctoring tests as necessary.
  6. Maintain testing documentation and materials, and complete data entry while keeping records confidential and testing materials secure.
  7. Evaluate and asses processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of Testing Services operations.
  8. Assist in the training, development, and proctor certification of Testing Services staff.
  9. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
  10. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
  11. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
  12. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
  13. Available to respond to internal and external customers, either in person or over the phone, during scheduled business hours

14. Demonstrates independent judgement and discretion in making position related decisions.
