The Business Development Representative is responsible for engaging with community employers in representing Tarrant County College’s division of Corporate Solutions and Economic Development (CSED). This position will report directly to the Director of Business Development. The position is responsible for achievement of revenue goals and profit margins for contract training opportunities and community partnerships. The position is critical in engaging with employers through a sales approach that provides custom solutions to meet employer needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for achievement of revenue goals and profit margins for contract sales
• Proactively monitors and determines industry needs, and analyzes new business opportunities to determine their potential profitability and market demand
• Gains insight into regional employers of Tarrant County
• Identifies key decision makers such as CEO’s, COO’s, Human Resource Managers, etc.
• Seeks out custom sales solutions through a sales approch that provides solutions to meet employer needs where and when they want them
• Understands market clusters that will inform product and service offerings as well as business development reach
• Represents the value of TCC and position as a leader in the business community
• Identifies opportunities in the vertical market
• Meets face to face with prospects and customers clearly identify needs that match the TCC value proposition by utilizing a consultative approach
• Identifies all stakeholders in the decision-making process
• Develops a core understanding of the customer’s technical needs and tailor strategies and solutions to meet those needs
• Interfaces and collaborates with internal resources to facilitate solution development
• Presents solutions and closes sales by utilizing strong communication and closing skills
• Creates territory and account plans to grow new accounts into repeat customers
• Implements account plans
• Develops a strategic sales strategy and implementation process to achieve revenue and profit margin goals of the CSED

• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Bachelor’s degree from regionally accredited college or university in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field
• Three (3) years of experience in B2B model with strong business acumen and sales background
• Budget management and sales forecast experience

• Social networking experience (i.e. LinkedIn) for purposes of business development
