The Student Affairs department has multiple openings for part-time, temporary University Staff (unclassified) Community Advocate positions.

Job Summary:

The Community Advocate will be responsible for politely assisting all students in complying with health and safety requirements and informing all students and visitors of Covid-19 related policies and regulations in campus buildings and on campus grounds.   The Community Advocate will guide students to their appropriate course and meeting locations, as well as other related duties as needed. 

 

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Ensure that students maintain physical distancing of at least six feet both within and outside University buildings

  • Ensure that students are wearing masks within University buildings, and outside of buildings when students are unable to maintain more than six-foot distances

  • Ensure students have appropriate wristbands for each check-in day

  • Provide instructions and building procedures as students come into University buildings

  • Provide direction and assistance to all building visitors

  • Promote a positive image of the campus

Pay and Benefits:

  • The pay for this position has been established at $14.00 per hour

  • This position is eligible for overtime compensation

  • This part-time, temporary position is not eligible for benefits

QualificationsQualifications & Competencies:

  • Prior experience working in a customer service setting
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication
  • Ability to work in a fast paced office setting and ability to handle stressful situations
  • Ability to multi-task  
  • Exceptional Interpersonal skills required – courteous, polite and assertive
