At least one year of experience working in a molecular biology laboratory.Departmental Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education::
•At least one year of PCR and nucleic acid extraction experience.
•Strong computer skills.
•Excellent organizational skills
•Follow established laboratory procedures for specimen labeling, handling, preparation and transportation.
•Process report results to appropriate areas.
•Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility and maintain laboratory documentation.
•Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
•Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
•Communicate effectively with laboratory management and other staff members.
•Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
•Conducts quality control and quality assurance testing.
•Perform manual and automated RNA extraction from various sample types.
•Perform Real-Time PCR on extracted samples.
