A postdoctoral research position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Lizi Wu at the UF health Cancer Center, Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology, University of Florida College of Medicine. The overall goals of our research are to elucidate the molecular mechanisms of cancer pathogenesis and to identify novel cancer diagnostic and therapeutic targets (http://mgm.ufl.edu/faculty/faculty-home-pages/wu-lizi/).

The postdoctoral fellow will study the functions and mechanisms of cancer genes using molecular, biochemical, and cellular approaches and mouse tumor models. Responsibilities include conducting research activities under the guidance of Dr. Wu, and reporting research findings by publication and presentation at scientific meetings.

Qualified candidates for this position should have a Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related area at the time of employment. Technical skills in molecular, biochemical and cellular biology as well as extensive experience with cell culture are required.

Prior experience with protein expression and purification or mouse tumor models would be a plus.
