JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Global Lab Production Manager will be responsible for managing transmedia productions developed through the Lab. The person in the position will work with others at the Lab, including the Lab Co-Directors, the graduate Project Manager, and student employees to advance creative, high impact transmedia scholarship, including video and greenscreen productions, mini-documentaries and podcasts. A focus of the position will be on integrating into the Global Lab’s commitment to global engagement a focus on STEM + Arts.

The Global Lab Production Manager will be responsible for managing transmedia productions developed through the Lab. The person in the position will work with others at the Lab, including the Lab Co-Directors, the graduate Project Manager, and student employees to advance creative, high impact transmedia scholarship, including video and greenscreen productions, mini-documentaries and podcasts. A focus of the position will be on integrating into the Global Lab’s commitment to global engagement a focus on STEM + Arts.

Media makers should be proficient in at least some of the following:

  • Podcasting/Audio Techniques
  • Field Production & Field Kit
  • Video Editing/Post-Production (including Premier & Camtasia)
  • Basics of Photography
  • Basics of Photo Editing (PhotoShop & Illustrator)
  • AR/VR for Global Engagement
  • Green Screening
  • 360-degree camera
  • Smartphone Movie-making

The Global Lab Production Manager will devote most of their time to creative scholarship production work, and may also assist with:

  • Train other employees in production strategies
  • Oversee the work of other members of the production team
  • Projects such as showcases, demos, dialogues and events
  • Representing the Lab in collaborations with other offices at WPI
