About the College/Unit/Department

Augusta University (AU) and the University of Georgia (UGA) partnered to create a four-year medical campus in Athens to help alleviate a statewide shortage of physicians that threatens the health of Georgians. The AU/UGA Medical Partnership, which enrolled its first class of 40 students in 2010, combines the significant instructional and research resources of UGA, the state’s flagship land-grant research university, with the expertise of AU-MCG, Georgia’s only public medical school.

Position Summary

This position is a lead in the AU/UGA Medical Partnership’s Office of Curriculum and supports many processes and activities within Years 3 and 4 (Phase 3) of the medical student curriculum. Reporting to the Campus Director of Phase 3 Curriculum, the successful applicant manages site placement, registering, and scheduling for the majority of 3rd year medical students, including creating, overseeing, and daily maintenance of clerkship rotation schedules for assigned clerkships. This position is also responsible for student placement at Georgia sites by State AHEC (Area Housing Education Center) and the Medical Partnership student housing stipend applications. This position receives communications from the Office of Educational Enrichment Credentialing Coordinator to ensure credentialing needs are met prior to a student’s start date at a clinical site.

Serve as lead on all M3 student lottery registration, scheduling, and site placement.
•Serve as point person in communications with Augusta.
•Coordinate all activities for the Medical Partnership student lottery (M3 and M4).
•Manage, schedule, and register students for all M3 rotations, including pre- and post-placement communications.
•Communicate with Site Clerkship Directors, Preceptors and Office of Curriculum Coordinators for faculty availability.
