Your opportunity:

The Office of the Vice Dean, Research & Innovation oversees all research undertaken for the Faculty of Medicine and coordinates with its counterparts at the affiliated hospital research institutes for clinical research. This includes: grant proposal development, administering internal funding allocations, collecting and reporting on research productivity metrics, and managing core research facilities.

As the H2I Program Coordinator, you will support hundreds of young entrepreneurs annually to translate their ideas into designs, services and products that in turn benefit society. Your ability to logistically coordinate a high volume and diverse setof events, including workshops, networking events, and pitch competitions, is key to the success of H2i's mission. You will draw upon strong communication skills, both written and interpersonal, to advise trainee entrepreneurs, develop relationships with industry partners, and engage mentors and other stakeholders to build and sustain a culture and community of innovation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for H2i program related inquiries (e.g. eligibility requirements, procedures and deadlines)
  • Advising students on program and/or course requirements by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences
  • Supporting with the administration of research funding proposals
  • Coordinating marketing activities and the production and distribution of communication and promotional/outreach materials (e.g. program brochures, newsletters, websites and/or handbooks)
  • Promoting and coordinating the logistical details of events and/or programs to target audiences
  • Coordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up items
  • Maintaining informationon digital platforms

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years related experience in a post-secondary institution
  • Experience coordinating programs and advising students on program requirements
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating events and workshops
  • Experience drafting and editing communications and promotional materials and updating websites
  • Experience managing calendars on behalf of senior leadership and supporting committees
  • Experience with research administration, including coordinating research funding proposals
  • Experience monitoring program accounts, generating financial reports and making recommendations toinform budgetary decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, content management systems and various socialmedia platforms
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills
  • Must have strong client-service orientation skills
  • Must be an effective problem solver and have exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Must have initiative and the ability to effectively deal with a variety of tasks andstrict deadlines; abilityto frequently adjust priorities

USW Pay Band 11 -- $65,669 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $83,978. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
