The purpose of this job is to coordinate the accurate and timely assignments of current and future single students in the Hale residence halls and married students in the Temple View Apartments (TVA), ensuring the highest level of occupancy at all times.


(45%) Residence Halls and TVA Bookings and Assignments

(a) Disseminates accurate information to students, prospective students, outside agencies, parents and other campus departments; (b) assists students and parents with room assignment requests and housing contracts; (c) works within multiple semesters and ensures the proper placement for all on-campus students into residence halls or TVA using the RMS/Mercury self-assign program, where applicable; (d) coordinates bookings and assignment criteria and needs with appropriate on-campus departments (Financial Services, Food Services, Admissions, Housing, Disability Services and Residential Life Coordinators).

(40%) RMS/Mercury – Single and Married Student Database

Maintains and updates assignments in RMS/Mercury for on-campus single and married student/family housing; (b) inputs, monitors, reconciles and updates housing and food services charges and adjustments; (c) works closely with EIS on creating and maintaining needed query reports and annual updating of application periods in RMS/Mercury; (d) maintains waitlists for apartment style, single-room, on-campus request single and TVA; (e) creates and submits to supervisor detailed monthly occupancy and statistical reports using RMS/Mercury and Excel. Reconciles mercury billing to ensure all spaces are billed correctly and sends reports to financial services and housing operations for PeopleSoft verification.

(15%) Miscellaneous Office Work and Customer Service

(a) Reviews Housing website for updates and submits to Technical Analyst and ensures information is updated in a timely manner; (b) ensures that all check-ins, check-outs and transfer paperwork are processed in a timely manner; (c) compiles and accurately reports data and statistical information as requested; (d) keeps supervisor informed of situations as needed; (e) able to interact successfully with students and parents consistently; (f) works closely with other department staff to process assignment changes and credits; (g) performs other tasks as assigned.


Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university preferred; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience or knowledge of accounting processes or experience preforming audits is a plus.

Skill Set: Must have strong computer knowledge and experience (word processing, database and Excel spreadsheet).   At least one course in computer programming in any language and familiarity with web content management, query and SQL, experience preforming V-Look up function and Drupal preferred. Knowledge of RMS/Mercury beneficial. Must be able to multi-task and work well under stressful conditions. Must be able to communicate well in English and have the ability to explain things correctly and succinctly, both in writing and verbally. Ability to stay calm in stressful situations and work with demanding and upset customers at times.

License or Certification: U.S. driver's license is beneficial.
