Position Description:
Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer/Manager (CAO) for the Rolfe/Campbell Humanities Group, the incumbent is responsible for managing payroll and all academic and staff personnel actions for the Department of Linguistics and the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. The Department of Linguistics has approximately 10 temporary faculty, 22 ladder faculty, and 5 career staff. The Department of Spanish and Portuguese has approximately 20 temporary faculty, 18 ladder faculty, and 5 career staff. The incumbent is responsible for supervising all aspects of the academic personnel process for appointments, reappointment, merits, and promotions for both departments. Oversee the distribution and dissemination of all benefits information and the visiting scholar application process. Use UCPath system to track sub 00 expenses, collaborate with the Fund Manager in reconciling payroll ledgers, and prepare reports for the CAO and Chairs as requested. Provides assistance to 2 Student Affairs Officers in the coordination of TA/GSR/ASE hires and other student-related payroll/personnel policies and procedures. Process payroll transactions for temporary and ladder faculty, research assistants, work study students, and limited/contract staff. Supervise the hiring process for approximately 80 Teaching Assistants and 20 Graduate Student Researchers. Ensure that all forms are in compliance with Corporate Payroll, Graduate Division, Academic Personnel, and Financial Aid work study policies.
