Job Responsibilities

Within the Engineering Trades group and Working under direct supervision, the employee performs a range of cleaning, laboring and light maintenance tasks. The supervisor/planner team schedules the work and provides detailed instructions; work is reviewed by the supervisor/lead to see whether quality and scheduling requirements have been met.

Characteristic Duties:
The duties listed under this section are designed to provide a representative sampling of key tasks and/or responsibilities associated with the job. They are not intended to be a complete list of all the duties performed by employees in the classification.

  • Assist with the set up and clean up of work areas related to Safety showers
  • Attend in-service training for the purpose of receiving information on new and/or improved procedures.
  • Operate a motor vehicle in the performance of assigned tasks
  • Operating equipment used in building maintenance trades.
  • Perform a variety of laboring and related duties, such as hauling and setting up furniture and appliances
  • Adhere to safety rules.

    This position is represented by SEIU Local 2007 and the collective bargaining agreement between the university and SEIU Local 2007 governs the terms and conditions of employment.
