Job Description Summary
The IT Clinical Applications Support Specialist will provide analytical and troubleshooting skills for implementing and supporting technology applications for Penn Vet hospital user communities. With guidance from senior IT analysts, this individual will resolve highly complex, multi-function application errors and system issues and address level 2/3 support requests and coordinate them within Penn Vet IT help desk

Job Description

Responsibilities include:
  • Assist in the assessment, coordination, documentation, release note review, testing, and implementation of custom applications, upgrades to current systems, and project requests.
  • Address support requests and coordinate them within Penn Vet IT help desk application.
  • With guidance from senior IT analysts, act as a liaison between various hospital departments and advocate for users' needs.
  • With guidance from senior IT analysts, resolve highly complex, multi-function application errors and system issues.
  • Provide and communicate clear documentation for support, status, and issues resolutions.
  • Develops and maintains process documentation to support both technical and end-user staff.
  • Provide training assistance for applications users and other staff.
  • Work closely with vendors' technical teams to resolve certain issues that cannot be resolved in-house.
  • Provide on-call after-hours support.


Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 1-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

The position will be situated at the New Bolton Center campus in Kennett Square, PA where no public transportation is available. The incumbent will be responsible for hospital-level support irrespective of campus, which will require travel to both Penn Vet campuses. Normal work hours will be Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, but this can change depending on technical support needs. A cover letter is required.
