The Chabot-Las Positas Community College District is seeking a Part-Time Instructor, Biology for Las Positas College in Livermore, Ca. Applicants will be expected to provide instruction in introductory Bioinformatics. This class will be offered fully online. Any synchronous sessions will likely be in the evening.
Principles of Bioinformatics. Project-based course which will analyze complex biological data. The course introduces students to the tools used for computational exercises relevant to current biotechnologies and computational biology. This is the capstone course in our Computational Biology A. A. degree.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1 Instructor responsible for 3 hours of lecture and 3 hours of lab per week. The class would have up to 24 students.
2. Responsible for choosing the textbook and delivering the content as specified in the course outline.
Master’s in any biological science OR Bachelor’s in any biological science AND Master’s in biochemistry, biophysics or marine science OR the equivalent.

1. Experience teaching at the community college level or being the instructor of record in lower division courses.
