Interact with users of the Duke Functional Genomics Shared Resource to supervise projects, develop assays, perform experiments, analyze data and provide instrument training.

Develop and execute protocols for cell line engineering of primary and cancer-derived cells using CRISPR, RNAi and ORF technology.

Plan and supervise daily operations for projects in the facility including genome editing of cells, high-throughput genetic or small molecule screens and instrument maintenance. Provide bioinformatic and data analysis support for high-throughput screens.

Oversee facility operations, including scheduling of projects and instrument usage, maintenance of lab stocks and responding to inquiries for facility services. Review scientific literature to remain current with new developments in relevant areas, including genome editing and functional genomics.

Prepare presentations and provide information to promote services available at the Functional Genomics Shared Resource.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented and self-motivated. Knowledge of cell culture and molecular biology techniques is essential and experience in high-throughput screening or functional genomics is highly desirable.

Education

Work requires a bachelor's degree in botany, biology, zoology, psychology or other directly related scientific field.

Experience

Work requires four years of research experience. A related master's degree may offset required years of experience on a 1:1 basis, e.g., a two year master's degree in lieu of two years of experience. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
