The BUSSW and the Center for Innovative Social Work & Health (CISWH) currently invites applications for the Project Director to help lead and to coordinate a five-year National Institute of Health (NIH) funded study with the goals of reducing health inequity related to poor mental health among marginalized populations by utilizing intervention science. This study will be conducted at the Boston Medical Center and at the Center for Innovation in Social Work, Boston University. The study may include another site in Western Massachusetts so some travel is required. The Project Director will join a cross disciplinary team of researchers at the Boston University Schools of Social Work, BU School of Public Health, and the Sargent College of Rehabilitation who are experienced in randomized clinical efficacy and effectiveness trials.

The Project Director is responsible for supervising the study conducted at the Boston Medical Center and its affiliated site and coordinating work at the CISWH.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising study staff, communicating with the research team and with study site personnel and leading all aspects of clinical training and treatment fidelity monitoring.
  • Overseeing data collection, data management issues, and procedures to secure the integrity and confidentiality of the data and coordination of the Data Safety Monitoring Board.
  • Organizing progress reports for the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and to the NIH.
  • Participating in weekly scientific meetings with the Principal Investigator and will assist with the preparation of conference materials.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • 2-3 years of NIH study management
  • 3-5 years of direct experience with clinical trials research on substance use or mental health
  • Ability to travel between sites
  • Skills at using SPSS/STATA and Redcap
