Job Description:

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the American University in Cairo invites applications for adjunct professor positions in photojournalism in the School of Global Affairs and Public Policy. Experienced candidates are being sought to teach undergraduate courses in digital media photography. Candidates must utilize current industry standard multimedia photography applications in a classroom setting.

Highly qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.


Requirements:

Minimum academic achievement of MA in said or related discipline; Minimum 10 years work experience in said or related field; Teaching experience preferred in said or related discipline; English proficiency is a must.

Candidates will teach but not be restricted to:

JRMC 2230 Photography Foundations. History of photography, digital camera skills, visual composition, digital production, developing assignment ideas, interpreting images.

JRMC 3330 Photojournalism and Documentary Practices. History of photojournalism, advanced camera skills, photographic lighting skills, visual story-telling strategies, editing and sequencing, research subjects, building a portfolio.
