The incumbent provides administrative support for the administration of the SCRC, including contract and grant assistance, purchasing assistance and coordination of stem cell center-sponsored special events and educational seminars. This position requires experience in excellent organizational skills, demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, ability to handle frequent interruptions, work independently, use initiative and follow through with complex tasks to meet deadlines. Demonstrated computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, electronic mail, and web browser applications and ability to function well in a team environment are also required. Compensation Range: Hourly: $23.94 - $28.10 Department Website: http://stemcell.uci.edu Required: Work Style Requirements: Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning faculty personnel data.Demonstrated ability to use the REDCAP system to create and edit surveysDemonstrated analytical skills to recognize issues/situations that require action, define problems by performing research and fact finding, present alternatives in an analytical and logical format, and formulate and recommend solutions.Demonstrated ability to analyze and comprehend complex issues, personalities, and political environment using independent judgment, leadership, tact, diplomacy, and initiative.Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload taking into consideration multiple deadlines, frequent interruptions, fluctuating priorities, and competing requests for service. Ability to coordinate information from a variety of sources in order to maintain consistency and correctness.Skill in managing and organizing a complex filing system.Experience in contract and grant development, processing under direction of financial analyst.Ability to train and delegate tasks to other clerical staff employees.Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students throughout the University who may be from diverse economic and social backgrounds.Excellent oral and written communication skills to compose and edit correspondence, reports and committee minutes.Computer Skills Requirement: Demonstrated PC-computer skills and software experience (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, relational database packages, graphics programs).Possess a valid CA driver s license or have the ability to obtain one. Preferred: Skill in using Kuali Financial System and Kuali Coleus.Interpersonal Skills: Communication and interpersonal skills to disseminate information to a wide variety of faculty, staff, and students and to explain policies and procedures.Stem Cell Ethical / Safety / public policy knowledgeKnowledge of CIRM Policies and Procedures Special Conditions: Final candidate subject to background check.
