Primarily business hours. Monday – Friday 8a-5p.
Some evening or weekends may be required.
On-call afterhours 7/days/week 4:30pm-8:00am

Job Summary

General Expectations

Support the mission and philosophy of the University of Kentucky as it pertains to supporting COVID positive students during their quarantine/isolation.
Report directly to the Graduate and Family Housing manager.
Support mission of Health Corps in providing care, basic needs and resources to students who need to quarantine.
Liaison with hotel management, dining partner and cleaning contractor in helping to deliver meals and other needs to students.
Assist with the overall management and administration of COVID positive residential facility operations at University Inn, 441 Rose Lane and a contracted hotel.
Follow, support, calmly and clearly explain to residents COVID policies.
Meet or make arrangements for residents to pick up keys and communicate check-in and check-out processes.
Keep Graduate and Family Housing Manager informed of on-going issues in the area.
Give daily, weekly reports to supervisor.
Maintain a professional attitude; this includes abiding by all federal, state, & local laws concerning COVID-19 and behaving in a manner consistent with department mission and values, both on and off campus.
Accept feedback and be willing to incorporate new ideas to strengthen processes.
Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with partner departments.
Recognize resident needs and make referrals to the Housing Office and Health Corps team.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and student health data.
Work with the Office of Student Conduct regarding compliance.
Understand life safety responsibilities as they pertain to overseeing COVID positive residential facilities.

Policy Enforcement

Document issues with residents where they are not following quarantine guidelines issued by the University and health department.
Respond to incidents in a timely manner.
Be consistent & appropriate in transactions with residents
Keep Graduate and Family Housing Office Manager informed of behavior problems and students of concern.

Resident Manager Responsibilities

Be available and accessible to the residents at all times unless time away has been approved.
Maintain a schedule so that appointments occur in a timely manner and commitments are met.
Prior to a resident’s move-in date, inspect units for cleanliness
Work with Contracted cleaning partner on room turns and linen needs for residents
After the resident arrives, notify Graduate and Family Housing Office.
Provide new residents with additional information or resources as requested.
Perform Check-out inspection after student leaves; report any issues to Housing Manager.
Act as liaison between residents and the Graduate and Family Housing Office.
Communicates and distributes information to residents when requested by Housing Office.
Provides lockout assistance in the event a resident loses their key, gets locked out of their unit, card access goes offline, or the card reader goes down.
Assist residents with resolving issues and complaints.
Evaluate the needs of the COVID positive residential facility and its residents. Communicate these needs to the Housing Office Manager.
Periodically perform walk-throughs of COVID positive residential facility to check for maintenance and custodial issues. Issues should be reported to the Office Manager.
Consistently check email.
Provide information to residents by communicating necessary information

*Selected candidates will be required to live on-site for the duration of the position at no cost to the selected candidates.
UK plans to give the selected candidates a 30-day notice for the conclusion of the position.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

Experience in the medical field is a plus but not necessary.
