 Jobsin this career family provide general business operations of the organizationor a combination of operational responsibilities covering multiple careerfamilies.  Functions includeinstitutional research, statistical analysis, policy development and review,strategic planning and broad unit business operations such as parking andtransportation services, risk management, childcare services, real estate andproperty management, retail services or job responsibilities that combinefiscal, HR and operational management responsibilities.

 Professionalsat the intermediate level are responsible for exercising discretion, analyticalskill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areasincluding academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions.Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directlyrelated to a professional field.

 Atthe intermediate level, duties may be more limited in scope and are performedwith guidance and direction from other professionals.

 Natureof Work:

TheBusiness Services Coordinator is a critical member of the Office of StudentServices and serves in a multifaceted role and will provide expertise in theareas of human resources, procurement, budgetary tracking, reporting andoverall management of the administrative office.  The position exercises initiative to achieveorganizational goals and objectives, maintains confidentiality, and establishesand maintains positive working relationships. This position will oversee thefunctionality of daily business tasks and requires considerable organization,focus, analytical and technical skills. The position directly manages and isresponsible for budgetary tracking, human resource processes and reporting.Responsible for the reporting and budgeting for all offices, programs, projectsand events and assist in troubleshooting complications as they arise. In addition, this position requires a workingknowledge of all current University policies that are relevant to businessservices which may include, but not be limited to procurement, human resources,budget, events, and travel. 

 This position is responsible for shaping the customer serviceexperience of all students who visit the suite.  In this role, theemployee will be expected to provide accurate information, assistance, andsupport in response to questions on programs and procedures including, but notlimited to: University policy and procedures, student registration, financialaid, bursar, navigating campus and program websites, and campus events. This positionmay provide supervision to student workers. This position will provideadministrative support to the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs andassist in the development and implementation of the office mission and goalswhich include: Office of the Registrar, Office of Financial Aid, Office ofStudent Engagement, Office of Equity and Diversity, Health Promotion, CARETeam, CU Anschutz DRS Office, Phoenix Center and Bursar’s Office. Theposition possesses project management skills, effective analytical andproblem-solving skills; works well under pressure and has the ability to handlecomplex and concurrent tasks.   • Execute projects assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Determines the correct forms and steps necessary toaccurately complete projects.
  • Handle/maintain/develop routine correspondence and materials,sensitive and confidential employee information, and employee personnel files.
  • Provides supervision to student staff.
  • Perform the recruitment, hiring, offer letters, andon-boarding functions for CU Anschutz Department Staff and Students.
  • Effectively handles sensitive and confidential issues onbehalf of department with timeliness, discretion, professionalism, andconsideration of the perspective of department.
  • Process and approve monthly time cards for Student and staff- Responsible for the creating and processing of new positions and requisitionsin HCM, Track and maintain internally any appropriate personnel records Studentand staff (vacation, sick leave, etc) on a monthly basis; submit requestedmonthly payroll information.
  • Perform procurement functions including travel card,procurement card, purchase orders and associated budget management (speed typeaudits/reports, allowable expenditures, etc.) for CU Anschutz Department asneeded.
  • Independently determines appropriate account for allocationof expenses and ensures financial transactions are appropriate and comply withall relevant university regulations and policies.
  • Analyzes and interprets department budgets to forecastspending projections and needs.
  • Coordination of workflow processes and audits in order tomaintain maximum efficiency.
  • Maintain and report budgetary related records in accordancewith University standards.
  • Support department in other financial duties including: cashhandling, deposits, billing, accounts payable, and account management.

  • Participate in organized training and meetingsto learn new aspects related to the job and retain current information onstudent services, academic policies and procedures, and general campusoperations.
  • Field general requests, incoming emails, anddistribute to necessary parties.
  • Field phone calls, emails and general RTDresponses.
  • Serve as primary point person on administrativeissues for Department.
  • Provide information and connect students to theappropriate CU Anschutz resources utilizing a superior customer service mode.
  • Support Associate Vice Chancellor for StudentAffairs in scheduling and other projects.

  • PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will beresponsible for travel expenses related to the interview process and anyrelocation expenses, if applicable.

     Salaryand Benefits:

    The hiring range for this position has beenestablished at $ 44,526 to $50,000 and is commensurate with skillsand experience.

    QualificationsMinimumQualifications: 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, businessadministration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, publicadministration, communications, or a directly related field from an accreditedinstitution.
  • One (1) year of professional budget, HR,financial and/or project management experience.
  • Substitution: Acombination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience maybe substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis, but not forthe required experience.

     PreferredQualifications:

  • Experience in HR operations, processing or supporting payroll orhiring processes.
  • One year full time experience with fiscal responsibilities.
  • Experience implementing organizational operations and procedures.
  • Experience using web-based information systems (i.e. PeopleSoftor similar).
  • Experiencein providing administrative and business service support.
  • 2years of professional customer service experience, preferably in a highereducation setting.
