The Postdoc will utilize a combination of new and existing numerical simulations performed with the Community Earth System Model to study the mechanisms whereby hemispheric forcings influence rainfall patterns over the global tropics. The research requires experience processing large model outputs, analyzing the dynamics of simulated climate phenomena, diagnosing physical processes, and interpreting paleoclimate data, particularly rainfall-sensitive proxies. The postdoctoral researcher will work as part of an interdisciplinary team with colleagues at the University of Texas at Austin.Benefits

- The candidate should have, or be near to completing, a Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences, meteorology, physical oceanography, or a related field
- Experience configuring, running, processing, and analyzing global climate simulations with the Community Earth System Model.
- Strong interest in climate dynamics and the study of past and future climate change.
