The Physician Assistant (PA) Program at the University Of South Carolina School Of Medicine invites applications for the position of Principal Faculty / Clinical Assistant Professor. This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position. Reporting directly to the PA Director of Didactic Education, the successful candidate will be responsible for administrative and didactic aspects of the PA Program didactic education. The PA Program was established in 2016 and is part of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine which includes a comprehensive and innovative spectrum of health science programs with a learner-centered environment and a commitment to interprofessional education. The primary responsibilities of the PA Program Principal Faculty are to provide effective leadership and management of a graduate-level PA program’s clinical education, including the planning and coordination of the didactic education components, organizing , structuring, and scheduling the didactic curriculum in accordance with established education standards and practices, and utilizing the student evaluation system to assess student progress of essential education and skills for each didactic area.

Required Education and Experience

Candidates must possess a terminal PA (Masters) or medical (e.g., MD, DO) degree. Current board certification and eligibility for licensure in the state of South Carolina are required. Demonstrated successful experience as a PA.
