Coordinate and monitor the day-to-day operations of the offices of the Film and Media Studies Program and the Speech Communication and Rhetoric Program. Serve as primary contact in Film and Speech for students, faculty, all university offices and departments, as well as the general public. Perform all administrative duties for Film and Media Studies and Speech associated with student application and acceptance, course scheduling, advisement, and registration. Will prepare and process financial transactions in coordination with the central budget manager. Prepare and process appropriate paperwork for purchase and personnel actions including graduate assistants, instructors, and visiting faculty. Assist program directors with the coordination and scheduling of meetings. Supervise Work Study students.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Bachelor’s degree, or high school diploma and 4 years work experience that is directly related to the area of employment; or equivalency.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities
This position requires the employee to have excellent organization skills, communication skills, initiative, efficiency, and follow through. As the first point of contact for Film Studies and Speech Communication, it also requires the ability to work well with students, faculty, and other staff members from these and related programs. Must have basic word processing and internet skills.
