Primary Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to assist the program coordinator in developing grade-level appropriate curriculum and materials throughout the pandemic closure period during Fall of 2020. Additionally the assistant will help with regular program activities including assisting the program coordinator through the expected maternity leave period of the program director.

Essential Functions

The essential functions of this position will include:
1. Building, testing and filming MESA projects.

2. Creating curriculum.

3. Assisting high schools with their online programs.

4. General event and program assistance as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school graduate.
• Knowledge of the MESA program and experience with MESA projects.
• Experience with PowerPoint and Zoom.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong writing skills.
• MESA program alumnus(a).
• Access to a vehicle and active drivers license.

Capacity to use hand tools to build basic MESA projects (i.e. hand saw, glue gun etc.)

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:
Work will be performed during standard business hours.

Valid driver’s license required. Incumbent must also be able to meet the University’s fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.
