The Assistant Director of Upward Bound assists the Director with all aspects of administration of the Upward Bound Program.Essential Duties and Responsibilities•Assists in the supervision of Upward Bound staff and manages the daily operations of the program.•Assist with developing, implementing, and facilitating professional development training, meetings, and activities for the staff.•Responsible for monitoring, maintaining the electronic database (Blumen) for UB.•Assist the UB Director in the weekly balancing and tracking of the UB budget.•Assist the UB staff in the recruitment process to enroll and serve eligible students.•Assist program staff in the monitoring and tracking of all participating and graduating TRIO program participants.•Conduct relevant UB workshops and presentations for parents and students.•Responsible for ensuring all UB equipment is properly secured, stored, and returned to the department.•Assist with the submission of the Annual Performance Report (APR) to the United States Department of Education.•Oversee the academic achievement and progress of students•Conduct intake interviews with program participants and their parents/guardians•All other relevant duties as assigned.Required Skills:•Knowledge of, and ability to work with, academic and social needs of the first generation and low-income students as well as students with disabilities or lower academically performing students.•Excellent counseling skills.•Ability to develop and nurture healthy relationships with high school students.•Good planning, administrative, and organizational skills.•Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills •Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.Required Qualifications: •Master's degree in Counseling, Education, or related area. •Experienced working with TRIO/Upward Bound Program, Student Support Services, or related area.•3 years of experience in a related field, preferred
