The individual will be responsible for developing and examining genetic drivers of disease such as the effect of mutations in the CFTR and viral response genes, molecular and cell biology techniques using both in vivo and in vitro air-liquid-interface models to determine the mechanisms of upper airway disease. The successful candidate will be a senior member of a multidisciplinary team and will be responsible for investigating innate immune defects in CRS as they relate to viral response and changes in the sinonasal microbiome.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collaborates in the development of new techniques. 
  • Serves as a senior collaborator on a multi-faceted or highly complex research initiative, leading substantive aspects of the overall project. 
  • Develops, designs, and conducts one or more medium/large and complex research projects.
  • Responsible for operation of a specialized research area or lab operating with considerable latitude in un-reviewed actions or decisions. 
  • Co-authors or authors publications and may co-present results with principal investigators at meetings or conferences.
  • Actively participates in acquiring research funding, including initiating and writing grant proposals. 
  • Oversees day-to-day operation of study and may supervise other research and support personnel.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience is required.
  • PhD or equivalent terminal degree in a related discipline required.
