Mabel , Tucson, AZ 85721-0207 USA Position HighlightsThis Research Technician position will assist the graduate students with their laboratory work. Duties will include help with experiments (microbiology, molecular biology, chemistry, biochemistry), ordering for the lab, and help with general lab operations.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Creation of genetic bacterial strains for the development of pure HSP60 chaperoins.
  • Bacterial strain maintenance - growth and maintenance of bacterial strains including BSL1 and BSL2 level strains.
  • Bacterial growth assays to test the efficacy of putative antibacterial compounds against engineered strains and against ESKAPE pathogens.
  • Protein expression and purification.  This will include bacterial expression and purification of proteins for projects related to HSP60, HSP70, and elF4A.
  • Ordering reagents and materials for the lab.

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
