TITLE: CarpenterDEPARTMENT: Facilities REPORTS TO: Trades Manager – Facilities Management EFFECTIVE DATE: TBD EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Under general supervision performs general carpentry work, including layout in the repair, renovation, and maintenance of temporary and permanent buildings and structures. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Performs general carpentry work in the maintenance, repair and renovation of floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, and screens from blueprints, sketches and verbal instructions.Installs glass in windows, doors, and partitions; replaces damaged roofing materials, ceiling tile, floor tile and other construction materials.Operates woodworking machines to saw plane, drill, or mortise lumber for doors, cabinets, shelves, molding and related fixtures and services saws, planes drills, jointers and hand tools.Performs general masonry work in laying block, brick, and tile in the construction of deer jambs, brick veneer, partition walls and chimneys.Builds forms; pours and finishes concrete work.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED; at least 1year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.Ability to operate a variety of power and hand tools used in the trade.Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions.Ability to read, understand, follow and enforce safety procedures. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibility. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
