TITLE: Painter DEPARTMENT: Facilities REPORTS TO: Traders Manager – Facilities ManagementEFFECTIVE DATE: TBDEMPLOYMENT STATUS: Full-time EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt PRINCIPAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Under general supervision, applies paints, solvents, sealants, and caulk to wood, plater, sheet rock, concrete, and synthetic interior and external finishes. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Applies paints, sealers, and solvents to exterior and interior building surfaces such as plaster, sheetrock, concrete, and wood.Operates equipment such as airless spray equipment, scaffolding, and motorized lifts,Performs surface preparation, including application of putty, wood filler, spackling, and caulks,Prepares surfaces by sanding, cleaning, and pressure washing.May apply exterior caulking to building joints and seams under direct supervision.Performs flat glass repairs.Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 6 months of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Skill in selecting and applying paint and associated products.Skill in wood surface preparation, staining, and/or sealing techniques.Knowledge of glass repair techniques, tools and materials.Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.
:Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio-hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Must be capable of climbing and working from ladders up to 36 feet.Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
