POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE

TheAsokan lab is seeking highly motivated candida tes for an open postdoctoralfellow position. This position will focus on the molecular determinants ofrecombinant adeno-associated virus (AAV) s pread, transduction, and expressionwithin the central nervous system (CN S) using methods including, but notlimited to, molecular biology (e.g. D NA and RNA extraction, RT-qPCR), cloning, high-throughputsequencing, vir us production, mouse injections and harvests,immunohistochemistry, immun ofluorescence, and fluorescence microscopy. Thepostdoc will be expected to conceptualize and execute experiments, collect andanalyze data, write manuscripts, and present findings at meetings both withinDuke and at in ternational conferences.

Requirements:

PhDin biological sc iences.

Stronglypreferred:

Experience with mouse models,neurobio logy/anatomy, strong molecular biology background, fluorescencemicroscop y techniques, and mouse handling, surgery, and tissue processing.
