The Department of Biology at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-accruing position at the rank of Lecturer, beginning January 4, 2021 in the area of Genetics. This is a renewable appointment with the possibility of promotion based on experience and merit. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology or a related life science, or in Education with an emphasis on Biology or STEM. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package. Preference will be given to applicants with at least one semester of teaching experience at the college level, but exceptional applicants at the Ph.D. level without this may be considered. Preference will also be given to applicants with interest and experience in pedagogical research and evidence-based teaching practices. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate courses in the areas of genetics and related fields, will teach collaboratively with other members of the department, and will partner with the department to promote active learning as well as participate in other departmental service.
