The Garcia-Marcos Laboratory at the Boston University School of Medicine is seeking a Research technician to participate in Research Activities related to Cellular and Molecular Biology with direct implications in cancer, birth defects and neurological disorders.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will become immersed in the research endeavorsof a research team composed of one PhD student, four post doctoral researchers and several undergraduate volunteers, in addition to the Principal Investigator Dr. Garcia-Marcos. This is an ideal opportunity for recent graduates who are seeking a period of active research to acquire new qualifications to potentially apply for graduate school or other career steps. Position requires experience with several of the following techniques: General Laboratory Skills: maintaining accurate records or research activities and laboratory inventories, making buffers, sterilizing research materials, etc Molecular Cloning: bacterial culture and transformations, PCRs, DNA purification, agarose gel electrophoresis, restriction enzyme digestions, etc Tissue Culture: maintenance of mammalian cell lines. Biochemistry: protein quantification, SDS-PAGE, recombinant protein purification, etc.
