The Residence Hall Manager (RLM) is a part-time live-in residential position within the Office of Student Life at ASU-Beebe that works up to 29 hours per week. The position is a 10-month appointment traditionally beginning each August with the opportunity for summer appointments and annual renewals. Although participation in a graduate program is not required for the applicant, the appointment is designed to support an individual completing a two-year master’s degree program. The RLM is involved in the management of the assigned on-campus residence hall, including but not limited to:

•Serving on-call to support resident/ staffing needs and respond quickly to building emergencies.
•Providing direct supervision of six student staff members (Resident Assistants).
•Coordinating student engagement in the residence halls through educational programing.
•Enforcing residence hall policies and procedures by confronting violators.
•Supporting housing check-in/check-out, college recruitment days, after-hour events, and other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Student Life.

As Arkansas’ oldest community college with on-campus housing, at ASU-Beebe, an RLM has the opportunity to work with first-year and first-generation students in traditional residential communities focusing on expanding student learning and leadership experiences in a small campus environment that supports one-on-one engagement.

In addition to a monthly stipend of $1,400, the successful candidate will receive a residential apartment in the assigned residence hall furnished with appliances (stove, refrigerator, and access to free laundry facilities) and private entrance, and full university meal plan. This is a non-benefits eligible position on a ten-month schedule.

SalaryRequired Qualifications

All applicants must be able to re-locate to the Beebe campus and occupy the assigned residence hall for the full length of the appointment. The successful candidate will work for ASU-Beebe and be granted time for graduate course work and class attendance. A background check will be completed on the successful candidate.

A Bachelor’s degree is required with preference given to applicants who have prior applicable experience and who are interested in developing a career in University Housing, Student Affairs, Counseling or related field.

This position will be subject to a pre-employment criminal, sex-offender registry background check. In cases where pre-determined, an additional financial/credit history/ background check may be required as well. Convictions that have been sealed or legally eradicated and misdemeanor convictions for which probation was completed and the case was dismissed, will be excluded.
