Job Summary Clayton State University Athletics, a proud member of the NCAA DII and Peach Belt Conference, is seeking applications for the position of Associate Director of Athletics. A member of the athletics administrative team, the Associate AD is responsible for managing the Clayton State Athletics NCAA compliance office and involved in other areas of athletics administration. This is a full-time, senior level administrator appointment reporting directly to the Director of Athletics.

    Responsibilities Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

    • Adhere to the core values of CSU Athletics, which are: Professionalism, Character, Accountability, Innovative, Excellence, Trust;
    • Adhere to the mission statements of Clayton State University and the Department of Athletics;
    • Oversee the Athletics Department in Director of Athletics’ absence;
    • Involved in all policy, procedural, and personnel decisions within the Athletics Department and assists the Director of Athletics with staff evaluations;
    • Assist the Director of Athletics in preparing proposed budgets for areas of oversight;
    • Serve as an institutional representative at NCAA meetings;
    • Responsible for all tasks related to NCAA compliance, ensuring prompt reporting of any violations, and keeping Director of Athletics well informed;
    • Assist with Athletics Department marketing and promotions initiatives, focusing on increasing attendance at home events;
    • Oversight of athletics administrative areas (Areas will be determined based on the background and experience of the new hire);
    • Serve as a game administrator when required;
    • Constantly evaluate the athletics program and recommend to the Director of Athletics ways to enhance athletics efforts;
    • Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and works closely with key academic personal on campus regarding issues and/or concerns;
    • Complete all NCAA and Department of Education required reports;
    • Manage athletics special events, including, but not limited to, Hall of Fame, PBC championships, and NCAA tournaments;
    • Manage community engagement efforts for all teams;
    • Recruit, hire, and train athletics staff in areas of oversight;
    • Assist with facility renovations and enhancements;
    • Manage internship program for internal and external interns;
    • All other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
    Required Qualifications
    • Individuals must have earned a bachelor’s degree in a related field
    • A minimum of two years of experience in intercollegiate athletics
    • Previous experience managing or working within a NCAA compliance office
    • Must possess outstanding communication and organizational skills and be able to manage multiple, time-sensitive projects simultaneously
    • Must be able to work independently, including some evenings and weekends to accomplish tasks necessary for success
    Preferred Qualifications
    • An advanced degree is preferred
