This position is located in the Saturday STEM Department, Mrs. Mary Trimble, Supervisor.
To assist with the day to day operations of the department.Scope of Responsibilities
Tutoring/Mentoring and character building through establishing peer relationships with young students that will help them to achieve academic success in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics on scheduled Saturdays.Essential Job Functions
Set up and break down lab equipment and instructional supplies
Perform duties as instructional assistant in the classroom
Serve as mentor/tutor to STEM participants
Research background material for lessons
Participate in all activities
Supervising young students at all times
Assist in preparing accountability and assessment reports
Attend professional development opportunities
High school diploma.
Classified as an undergraduate at Alcorn State University.
Enrolled in at least 6 semester hours.
• Must be dependable and able to work without supervisor’s constant oversight;
• Must have excellent interpersonal, customer relations, communication, and organizational skills;
• Effective time management skills;
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products, e-mail and internet;
• Highly organized, detail oriented;
• Successful experience working in a team environment; and
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, objectives, and deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
