This is up to a 19.5 hours per week maximum part time student position. The student will be assigned work in either the Computer Labs, the Technology Services office or by working audio and visual events. The student in this position must be credible, reliable, personable and able to work with information of a confidential nature.

The schedule will be assigned in conjunction with the student’s class schedule and the needs of the department and is subject to change between semesters or as needed. Students are not to work during scheduled class time, even if class is canceled or dismissed early.

Students in this position provide assistance to Technology Services personnel as requested, provide assistance to students, faculty, staff and performs various assigned tasks. Excellent customer service skills are required. A working knowledge of computer hardware and software is essential to this position.

Essential Duties

• Assist students with basic computer hardware and software needs
•Assist students with accessing college systems, and resources
•Assists students with password related issues
•Answer incoming calls for the department
• Replenish supplies, printer paper, and printer toner when needed
•Help students with devices’ wireless connectivity issues
•Maintain a comfortable and safe working environment in all areas
•Assist with the set-up and/or coordinate audio visual set ups for campus events (if assigned to work with Audio Visual Tech some evenings and weekends will be scheduled based off of your availability)
•Maintain inventory of equipment throughout campus
•Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications and Training

•Must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours
•Must maintain a 2.0 GPA
•Must be able to lift up to 40lbs
•Must have a basic working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Apple OSX
•Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
•Must have good communication and time management skills
•Must be able to perform essential duties without direct supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner
•Must have excellent customer service skills
•Must maintain strict office confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications and Training

•Computer Science, Information Technology or Information Systems related majors but not required
•Experience with the set-up and tear-down of audio and visual technologies
