Position Summary

This position serves as an administrative assistant and liaison to the Program Director of the NSF IDEAS Training Program housed within the Odum School of Ecology. The individual holding this position will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the program. Duties include collating and disseminating information regarding the program to prospective and current students, as well as faculty; providing assistance with the planning and implementation of programmatic activities; and maintaining and updating program level databases, websites and promotional materials. The position also involves advising of program trainees and developing and implementing data science workshops (IDEAS data clinics) for trainees. Key programmatic duties include: acting as the communications hub for the program; scheduling program-related meetings; and general program administration.

General program administration (including designing and writing a regular program newsletter; creating, maintaining, and updating program website and promotional materials; coordinating program communication; scheduling program-related meetings; coordinating programmatic events and activities; advertising and updating program-related course materials; general clerical tasks and assisting program director with program operations)
