The Penn Dental Medicine (PDM) Learning Technology Team seeks a Studio Manager for our on-site studio.

Job Description


The Penn Dental Medicine (PDM) Learning Technology Team seeks a Studio Manager for our on-site studio. The primary responsibility of this role is to manage daily operations in PDM multimedia studio and the Learning Technology Team office. He or she needs to have a broad knowledge on equipment, including hardware and software that will be used by PDM Learning Technology Team's photographer and videographer to support PDM's online and blended learning projects. Also, incumbent of this position will work closely with the multimedia team to process the post production of video audio projects to fulfill the school's vision. The position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fluid working environment. Additionally, this role requires someone who has design thinking and flexibility within a highly creative environment. Lastly, this position requires a passion for emerging technologies, fabrication (“making”), teaching, and working with users with a variety of experiences and backgrounds.


  • An Associate's and 0-1 years' experience or a combination required (BA/BS and 1-3 years' experience preferred) in Multimedia Design, Instructional Design, Studio Management, or Education Technology in a higher education, multimedia/instructional technology environment, or equivalent professional experience
  • Demonstrated ability to support a diverse clientele and apply knowledge of faculty teaching goals and course content to design and implement collaborative learning support at the course level
  • Demonstrated expertise rapid authoring and graphics applications including, Adobe Premiere, Camtasia, Adobe E-Learning Suite, Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline and other design tools
  • Showcase an extraordinary strong knowledge in photography, videography, and studio planning
  • Extensive technical and functional experience with video production, learning management, course delivery, online learning systems and related synchronous and asynchronous collaboration, communication, and presentation tools such as Canvas, Canvas Catalog, Panapto, Box, Microsoft Suite , or similar technologies.
  • Outstanding follow-through and problem-solving skills; tenacious and willing to take ownership of problems
  • Familiarity with copyright and intellectual property standards for course development

  • Knowledge of ADA requirements in online course delivery
  • Experience in developing, managing, promoting and evaluating instructional programs or services
  • Demonstrated experience with web site design and implementation, web 2.0, and social media tools for an academic environment including: Blogs, Wikis, iTunes U Course Manager, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.
