Job Summary

Develop, negotiate and administer high dollar value contracts for strategic procurement of goods and services. Monitor activity relative to contract provisions and compliance with applicable state, sponsored and federal regulations. May specialize in an assigned area. This position will interact on a consisted basis with: procurement management and staff, GT purchase originators, suppliers. . This position typically will advise and counsel: GT purchase originators, suppliers. This position will supervise: N/A.

Responsibilities Major Responsibilities:

    Confer with purchasers to identify and develop terms and conditions of procurement contracts.Identify the requirements and specifications to issue bids for the procurement of complex IT goods and services. Negotiate contract and licensing terms and conditions.Advise suppliers regarding Georgia Tech procurement policies, procedures and practices.Process and coordinate actions regarding Request for Proposal and Request for Information documentation.Coordinate and facilitate communications between campus end-users and suppliers.Provide ongoing administration of approved contracts including compliance with terms, applicable state and federal policies and regulations.Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Work requires following basic safety precautions. Requires lifting objects up to 25 lbs. and standing for extended periods of time.

Required Experience
Five to seven years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires professional knowledge of and skill in applying business purchasing processes and practices with emphasis on procurement contract sourcing, bidding, negotiation and administration. This includes skills in communication, organization, presentation and attention to detail. Use of office and specialized computer applications and databases is required.
