Position Summary:

The School of Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking to fill two tenure track faculty positions. Successful candidates will join a vibrant and collaborative group of scientists and scholars conducting innovative and impactful research aimed at improving health care services and individual and population health across the lifespan. We seek candidates who will develop and maintain robust funded research programs focused on generating new knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

* Symptom science;
* Informatics;
* Health systems innovation;
* Child and family health;
* Population health;
* Psychiatric/mental health.

Successful candidates for these positions will also teach courses aligned with their expertise in undergraduate nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and PhD programs, and will mentor undergraduate honors and graduate students in research and scholarship. Service to the school, university, and profession, and contribution to inclusive excellence are also expectations for these positions.

Principal Duties:

* Tenure-track faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Nursing conduct research, teach courses, mentor graduate students, and contribute to school, university, community, and professional activities through academic citizenship and leadership.
* Tenure-track faculty members positively contribute to School of Nursing and University of Wisconsin-Madison goals for diversity and inclusive excellence.
* Successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain a collaborative, innovative, robust, and highly visible research program that entails conceptualizing, designing, and conducting research studies; managing research staff; following all research compliance policies; disseminating research results; and seeking extramural research funding. Research programs may build on one or more of the following research approaches: symptom science, systems science, qualitative methods, health services research, epidemiology, informatics, large data analytics, or mixed methods. Research programs should be consistent with national nursing, public health, behavioral health, aging, family health, mental health, health care, or health systems priorities for extramural funding.
* Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses aligned with their expertise at baccalaureate and/or graduate levels. Teaching may include co-teaching in active learning environments and interprofessional education with health sciences students and faculty. Teaching may include face to face, blended, and online delivery.
* Research mentoring of undergraduate honors students, PhD students, and postdoctoral fellows is expected.
* Successful candidates will be expected to actively contribute to school, university, community, and professional committees and other activities through academic service.
* Appointments at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor ranks are possible. For appointments at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, a substantial nationally recognized record of research, publication, teaching, and service meeting criteria for a tenured faculty position at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will be required.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

* Earned research doctorate (PhD or equivalent) in Nursing or related field required.
* If earned research doctorate is not in nursing, graduate degree in nursing is required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

* Three or more years of experience or combined research training and experience in conducting health-related research projects;
* A record of research publication;
* One or more years of experience or combined education and experience in teaching at undergraduate or graduate levels in nursing or health related field is required; teaching experience using active learning strategies, co-teaching, concept-based teaching, blended and online teaching, and interprofessional education strategies is desirable.

License or Certificate:

* Eligibility for Registered Nurse licensure in Wisconsin is required

In achievement and prestige, the University of Wisconsin–Madison has long been recognized as one of America's great universities.
