Job Description Summary
We are seeking to hire a Clinical Research Project Manager A/B to join a growing research program, BeSAFIR (Behavioral Science and Analytics for Injury Reduction). BeSAFIR (www.besafir.org) is led by M. Kit Delgado, MD, MS in the Center for Emergency Care Policy and Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine with close affiliations with the Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, the Center for Health Incentives and Behavioral Economics, the Penn Injury Science Center, and the CHOP Center for Injury Research and Prevention.

This position involves managing the implementation of multiple prospective cohort and randomized trial studies leveraging smartphone technologies and insights from behavioral economics for injury prevention (e.g. reducing texting and drinking while driving). The person in this position will work closely with and provide a high-level support to the Principal Investigator.

Job Description

Project Manager A Duties: The position is responsible for the project management of multiple studies including overseeing all tasks necessary to ensure that studies are conducted safely and according to protocol. The Project Manager A will be responsible for developing protocols, ensuring proper transfer and management of study data, training and supervision of research coordinators and research assistants. This position will also assist with IRB applications, sponsor reports, and manuscripts in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team of research collaborators who work closely with the Principal Investigator. The ideal candidate will have experience with website management and social media outreach.

In addition to the duties described above, the Project Manager B will serve in a leadership role for a number of clinical and health services research studies. They will meet regularly with study and department leadership to provide study updates but will function independently in carrying out most responsibilities. The role will include regular contact with outside entities of importance to manage the execution of agreements and subcontracts and will assist with preparing work for presentations at national meetings. This position will also assist with grant applications, budget development and management of study finances.

Qualifications

For Project Manager A: A Bachelor's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in is required. Ideal candidate will have clinical research experience with diverse populations; an understanding of injury prevention; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills; experience managing data; and demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a timely fashion.

Project Manager B: A Master's Degree and 3-5 years of experience or combination of education and experience is required. Ability to work in diverse, multi-disciplinary environment. Excellent written and verbal skills. Position contingent upon funding. The ideal candidate will have the skills listed above, as well as experience with employee supervision and retention, research budgets, grant applications, and collaboration with research partners.
