Student Employment CoordinatorPOSITION SUMMARYThe Student Employment Coordinator will oversee a new program to provide IWU student employees with professional development training throughout the year.This role will secure speakers and spaces for professional development workshops.The Coordinator will also oversee the Accelerate Indiana Internship program and build relationships with Indiana employers.This position is funded by a Lilly Endowment grant ending June 30, 2021.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESoProvide a variety of career readiness services for university departments and 1,400 IWU student workersoBuild and maintain relationships with campus employers and assist in assessment processes of student work performanceoProvide opportunities to advertise student job listings on campusoAssist students in developing their resumes as a requirement for application to campus jobsoGuide students in the development of their Handshake and LinkedIn profilesoSecure employer sponsors to sustain the Student Employment Training program after grant funding expiresoDevelop online materials to sustain professional development training post-grantoFacilitate on-campus employment opportunitiesoCoordinate Federal Work Study community partnersoTrain on-campus supervisors regarding FERPA, Work Study, and hiring requirementsoTeaching in co-curricular development workshops for the SET programoInventory student employment recordsoPlan annual student employee banquet to recognize their work oPlan annual career fairoTrack and manage incoming revenue for events from corporate sponsorsoOversee Accelerate Indiana Internship programoApprove payroll for paid student employees and paid internsoRepresent the Career Development office at Visit Days and New Student Registration – some nights and weekendsoAttend meetings and serve on committees as assigned and appropriateoAbility to present in the classroom and conference presentationsoTaking career office projects from ideas to fruitionoEvent planning of multiple events and workshops per semesteroAbility to coordinate people and programsoExcellent written and oral communicationoKnowledge of career resources
