Title:
Research Professional III

Job duties:
Isolation, characterization and structure determination of polysaccharides and glycolipids by NMR spectroscopy. Method development for analysis of plant and microbial polysaccharides by NMR. 2D-NMR analysis and comparative studies of polysaccharide- and polypeptide-based pharmaceutical products. Development of NMR methods for analysis of polypeptides in pharmaceutical products. Interpretation of NMR data and report writing. Ordering chemicals and consumables for the experiments and as needed for analytical service lab.

This position will supervise three employees in analytical methods being developed in the lab and also train them in 2D-NMR and other analytical techniques for characterization of glycoconjugates.

Minimum degree required:
Phd in Chemistry or related science field;

Prior work experience:
Minimum of three years’ experience in 2D-NMR experiments and analytical techniques such as GS-MS or HPLC. This experience should include extensive experience with data interpretation of NMR as well.

No routine travel required; staff supervision required.
