The University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education & Hotel is hiring motivated, dependable, and team-orientated individuals for jobs that advance UGA’s mission of Public Service and Outreach. The Georgia Center, located on campus across from Stegeman Coliseum, is the campus hub for the development and administration of non-credit professional and continuing education courses as well as home of the only on-campus hotel.

40.0 hours/week. Be available to work any day of the week during 3rd shift (11pm-7am).

Position Summary

The night auditor performs an audit of the business day’s transactions. Audit duties include running all daily reports and checking for accuracy, auditing all payment types, completing all end-of-day reports, and rolling the report date to the next business day. The night auditor will also check in and check out guests, make and confirm reservations, answer all telephone calls and respond to guest requests, serve as manager on duty, enter maintenance work orders, prepare daily shift reports, train and oversee relief auditors, and attend all needed meetings and training sessions. As the manager on duty, the night auditor will learn the hotel’s fire, health, and emergency procedures and be ready to implement these policies and procedures when needed.

This is an essential position and may be needed to work when the University is closed.

Dependable, responsible, and able to work well without direct supervision. Strong organizational and time management skills. Detail-oriented.

Perform an audit of the front desk daily transactions
1)Run the daily reports and check for accuracy.
2)Audit all payment types for that day.
3)Make appropriate corrections and adjustments.
4)Complete end-of-day reports: post room charges, run back-up of daily transactions, and roll the posting date to the next business day.

Serve as manager on duty during your shift
1)Learn and know all safety and security procedures. Apply them as warranted and seek assistance from hotel upper management as needed.
2)Communicate effectively with front desk staff, Front Desk Manager, Front Desk Assistant Manager, Hotel Director, Georgia Center personnel, and emergency personnel.
3)Handle and solve guest issues.
4)Enter maintenance work orders. If necessary, contact maintenance.

Complete all procedures and tasks related to hotel guests with efficiency, accuracy, and utilizing excellent customer skills
1)Check guests in and provide them information about the hotel.
2)Print parking passes and post accurate charges.
3)Post charges and payments to guest folios and check guests out.
4)Make and confirm reservations.
5)Greet guests warmly.
6)Answer telephone promptly.

1)Utilize the night audit checklist to train new auditors.
2)Provide Front Desk Manager with feedback regarding trainees.
